  • Lechlade Trout Fishery on Tue 10th January 2012

Good venue. There are two main lakes Bushyleaze and Lechlade itself. Lechlade is the more expensive specimen lake. A full days fishing here will set you back £55. Not very credit crunch friendly!
  • Audley Fly Fishing Club on Tue 22nd June 2010

Ok, from what I know Audley Fly Fishing Club have ownership of the waters from Audley End to Great Chesterford. Personally I think that the best spot to fish is between Littlebury and Little Chesterford.
  • Witley Fishery on Tue 22nd June 2010

Witley fishery is a decent Carp venue. I think the spot that I fished was called dingle pool. Pulled out a few doubles on a day ticket.
  • Farnham Angling Society on Tue 18th January 2011

Farnham angling club have tons of venues. All sorts of species Roach, Rudd, Carp, Pike, Perch, Trout, Tench. Some of which are of specimen size. The 2010 club membership was £90 but well worth it for some top class fishing.
  • Salisbury Angling Club on Tue 18th January 2011

Salisbury angling club run both trout and course fishing waters across stretches of the River Avon and a few stillwaters. The standard course fishing ticket costs £79 and the game one costs £165. This angling club is very large, something like 1900 members.
  • Abingdon and Oxford Anglers Alliance on Tue 31st January 2012

Fished Abingdon and Oxford alliance ticket last season. Some good fishing to be had at Radley and Clifton Hampden. If you fish Dorchester Lake you can park right next to some of the pegs.
  • Pimlico Farm on Tue 10th April 2012

Pimlico farm is a small family friendly venue in Bicester. You park in the courtyard, sign yourself in and put the money in an envelope. There seems to be a pretty good head of carp here. I don't think there's anything here for specimen hunters but it still makes for a nice days fishing.
  • Barn Elms Fly Fishery on Fri 29th June 2012

Had a great day at Barn Elms. Very nice facilities and what seem like good stocks of trout.
  • River Thames - Clifton Hampden on Fri 29th June 2012

You used to be able to access the thames at clifton hampden by parking at the barley mow pub. I think the pub car park is only for customers now so you might have to park across the bridge next to the church.
  • Leighton Buzzard Angling Club on Wed 8th August 2012

Found out about Leighton Buzzard Angling Club when I was walking around the estate at Claydon, Buckinghamshire. There were anglers set up with Bivvys sporting gigantic landing nets. Found out about the catfish when I got home and read up on the place.
  • Buscot Park Small Lake on Mon 10th September 2012

You couldn't fault the location of this lake. It sits within the Buscot Park estate and has nice pegs all numbered with wooden decking. When we arrived I could see a few carp to the right of the bridge (coming from the entrance), however you are not allowed to fish this part. We set up on the "small lake" and fished for about 5 hours. Caught nothing at all. There was an angling club on the opposite bank for a match, during the time that I was there I only saw the three anglers in front of me land one fish. The bad days fishing might have been the weather or some other factor. I'd still like to go back to Buscot as it's a nice venue.
  • Blessington Lakes on Fri 8th February 2013

You can pick up a permit at Charles Camping in Blessington. The lakes are huge so there are plenty of spots to choose from for coarse fishing. One of the more popular is by the bridge at Burgage. For trout fishing I've heard that Tulferris & Poulaphouca direction is your best bet.
